  • MAC attends high profile international events
    This October, MAC will be raising its profile as a global player by attending two key events which will attract over a thousand visitors between them. The Marine Technology Society (MTS) conference on 13-14 October in Houston is recognised as the leading annual professional symposium on the latest changes, developments and technology pertaining to dynamic positioning. The IMCA annual seminar on 27-28 October in Abu Dhabi focuses on a health check for the marine, diving and wider offshore contracting industry. Read more ...
  • Record breaking results in MAC walking challenge
    As part of a six-week walking challenge, an initiative to support MAC's Gold NHS Healthy Working Lives award, our team completed a 15 mile walk last month through some of the most wonderful Scottish countryside. Every year we arrange such a challenge and we this was the best one yet, with a great turn-out. Investment in helping to improve our staff's overall health and wellbeing is fundamental to creating a great place to work. Read more ...

  • MAC joins the John Muir Trust on a community volunteering project at Glen Tanar
    As part of MAC's commitment to maintaining its ISO 14001 environmental management systems certification and contributing to its environmental objectives, we recently participated in a two day event in support of the John Muir Trust, a local environmental group. The team worked undertook volunteer conservation work with the Glen Tanar Ranger Service on Royal Deeside. Read more ...
  • MAC hosts work experience day with Gilmonstoun School
    MAC recently hosted pupils from its Business Link Partner, Gilmonstoun School for a work experience day. The children were introduced to the various roles within the company, visiting the dynamic positioning, marine and engineering departments alongside the support functions of HR and administration/travel. It was great to witness the enthusiasm and to hear that the visit had inspired and motivated the children. Read more ...
  • MAC commits to the next generation of industry talent
    MAC has underlined its commitment to the next generation of energy industry talent, by appointing a new graduate to its growing team. Naval Architect, Eric Brown, has joined the company after achieving a first class MEng Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering degree at Strathclyde University. Graeme Reid, managing director of MAC, said: "It's particularly important in the current economic climate, amongst the dramatic slide in world oil prices, to make sure we are still investing to weather the storm and safeguard the industry's future.     The International DP Operators Association (IDPOA) has published a study by Chad Fuhrmann, MAC Business Director Americas, on the dynamic positioning industry and the rules which govern it in its summer 2015 magazine 6 degrees.     MAC has recently achieved the gold award from NHS Healthy Working Lives, a scheme to help employers create a safer, healthier and more motivated workforce. Activities have ranged from 'lunch and learns' educating on serious health issues which are increasingly impacting our lives, such as obesity and stress, to rolling your sleeves up and making healthy smoothies in the staff kitchen.   • MAC reports record growth and a promising 2015
    MAC has reported a record number of new enquiries in 2015 and is anticipating further growth. Within the first few weeks of this year, MAC has received 22 enquiries for work worth a total of £1.8 million. Last year the company reached £3.8million in sales, a 15 per cent increase on 2013. Graeme Reid, managing director of MAC, said: "We have an ambitious growth strategy and are delighted to have started this year so positively." Read more ...

  • MAC expanding to meet demand
    MAC is on the expansion trail following a surge in worldwide demand for our dynamic positioning (DP) services. 12 new projects have been commissioned in the past two months - many with new clients - with the MAC team being deployed on vessels for the Brazilian, Gulf of Mexico, Nigerian, Scandinavian and Chinese markets.
