  • MAC scoops prestigious national business award
    Maritime Assurance & Consulting (MAC) has been crowned Service Business of the Year at the Startups Awards 2012. The award, which aims to celebrate the success of businesses in the UK that have been trading for less than three years, was presented to MAC at a ceremony in London on Friday (7 December). MAC was one of three finalists for the Startups accolade which was judged by Dragon's Den star Duncan Bannatyne. Graeme Reid, MAC managing director, commented: "I am thrilled to have received such a prestigious award which goes to each and every person at MAC who has helped mould us into the success story that we are today.   • MAC attends IMCA seminar
    Graeme Reid, managing director at Maritime Assurance & Consulting (MAC), presented his first paper for the company at the annual International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) seminar held in Amsterdam on 28-29 November. Graeme hosted the company's exhibition stand at its first event. The event, which had the theme 'marine and subsea operations: a culture of sustainability', was attended by a wide range of operational, technical and management personnel, consultants, manufacturers, clients and regulators who enjoyed a busy programme focusing on the latest technological developments, operational achievements and 'hot' issues facing the industry.   • MAC to attend IMCA seminar
    The MAC team are gearing up to travel to Amsterdam in order to take part in the IMCA seminar - a prestigious industry event - later this month. Graeme Reid, MAC Managing Director, will present a paper, while this will also be the first exhibition attended by the company. Read more ...
  • MAC named as Startups Awards 2012 finalists
    MAC has been named as a finalist at the Startups Awards 2012, shortlisted in the Service Business of the Year category of the awards, which celebrate the success of businesses in the UK that have been trading for less than three years. Graeme Reid set up MAC in 2011 and has seen the company go from strength to strength since its creation, providing a comprehensive range of consultancy and support services to the worldwide marine, construction, drilling and floating production industries.   • MAC reports successful end of financial year results
    MAC enjoyed a successful period during its last financial year. The company, which was launched by Graeme Reid in 2011, has reported revenue figures of over £2.3M and has more than doubled its workforce to 21. As well as increasing business the company, which offers a range of support services to the global marine, construction, drilling and floating production industries, also invested £400,000 in new premises after outgrowing its office in April.   • MAC helps raise £40,000 at the Dreams Come True Charity Ball
    MAC sponsored a table at the Dreams Come True Charity Ball, at the Marcliffe of Pitfodels in Aberdeen on Saturday 6 October 2012. The goodwill and generosity shown by all those that attended raised an outstanding £40,000 for the Dreams Come True charity and the Archie Foundation. Read more ...

  • MAC student placement success
    As part of our commitment to developing young talent and supporting the future prosperity of the industry, MAC has recently taken on its first university work place student, Grant Singer, M Eng Mechanical Engineering, University of Aberdeen.
    Managing Director, Graeme Reid commented: "we are delighted to have Grant in our team and to be providing this opportunity.     Maritime Assurance & Consultancy (MAC) was recognised at the 2012 Grampian Business Awards, winning in the 'Business Success - Under 3 Years' category for companies achieving and on track to achieve exceptional sustainable organic growth in any market sector.
    Graeme Reid, Managing Director, said "It is fantastic to receive recognition for the hard work and dedication that has gone into making our first 18 months in business a great success.   • MAC achieves ISOQAR accreditation for its integrated business management system
    MAC has obtained ISOQAR accreditation for its integrated business management system, spanning the ISO 9001 Quality standard, ISO 14001 Environmental standard and the OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety standard. Read more ...

  • MAC supports Celebrate Aberdeen
    Maritime Assurance & Consulting is delighted to support the Celebrate Aberdeen event by sponsoring Scottish charity Aberlour Childcare Trust. Following a highly successful inaugural event in 2011, the second Celebrate Aberdeen parade will take place on 9 June. Last year's event involved 126 charities and groups and raised £13,000 with over 3,000 participants on the day ... and this year is shaping up to be even bigger. Read more ...

    Aberdeen-based Maritime Assurance & Consulting (MAC) is set to move premises as a result of a highly successful first year in business. Significant growth over the company's first year in business and an equally positive start to the second, has meant the business has outgrown its current office, resulting in a significant investment in the new premises over the next five years.   • Maritime Assurance & Consulting Ltd has successful first year in business
    Aberdeen-based Maritime Assurance & Consulting Ltd (MAC) has enjoyed a successful first year in business. The company, which was set up by Graeme Reid in January 2011, has exceeded all initial expectations. First year turnover was anticipated at being around £650,000, however due to the continued growth and success of the company, turnover for the year was £1.5m. The team has grown from 4 to 19 and the company launched a new division in September in the form of MAC Resourcing. Read more ...
