  • In October 2016, MAC is acquired by the Bureau Veritas (BV) Group.
  • MAC adds two new business streams to the business: Project Assurance & Consultancy; and Compliance Services.
  • MAC presents at IMarEST, Nautical Institute and MTS conferences.


  • MAC celebrates achieving its Gold Award for Healthy Working Lives.
  • MAC sees continued growth, with a 28% increase in annual turnover.
  • MAC continues support for Charlie House.


  • MAC forms business link with local school and provides rent free office space for the wonderful Charlie House charity.
  • MAC completes its first Marine Warranty project; safely dry transporting a drillship from Singapore to Gabon.
  • MAC appoints its first employee in the US to develop business in the Gulf of Mexico and across the US as a whole.
  • MAC is named in the top 10 in the Start-Up 100 index of best new businesses for the second year running.


  • MAC Resourcing Ltd gains accreditation for its integrated business management system (ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001).
  • MAC launches its Marine Consulting department.
  • MAC and MAC Resourcing Ltd celebrate achieving its Bronze Award for Healthy Working Lives, a scheme managed by the UK National Health Service.
  • MAC is named in the top five of the Start-Up 100 index of best new businesses and is the top Scottish business on the index.
  • MAC and MAC Resourcing have record breaking sales for the year; £3.2M and £0.6M respectively.


  • MAC has to relocate to larger offices on Skene Street, Aberdeen to accommodate the increased workforce.
  • MAC Resourcing Ltd launches its first independent website.
  • MAC wins its first business award for 'business success under three years', at the Grampian Business Awards for Enterprise. MAC gains accreditation for its integrated business management system (ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001).
  • MAC wins its second business award for 'service business of the year' at the UK Start-Ups Awards in London. Employee numbers grow to 21 and sales for the year soar to £2.4M.


  • MAC is launched by Graeme and Lynne Reid, offices on Union Street, Aberdeen.
  • MAC recruits six staff and has secured contracts with Maersk Oil, Technip UK Ltd, Subsea 7 and Centrica conducting projects in Norway, Germany, France, Singapore, Australia and Martinique. The Dynamic Positioning and Naval Architecture departments are up and running and performing well.
  • MAC completes its first year in business having recorded sales at £1.5M, more than double the planned sales volume and has 14 employees on-board.
